Spring has sprung, and we’re celebrating with a slew of upcoming events and we need Volunteers to join us!
Come Memorial Day, we will don our sea creature attire and march in the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 30. And be prepared to get your mermaid on, Sunday, June 12, for our Mermaid Festival—featuring all things mermaid, including an art show, face painting and swimming with live mermaids! We need volunteers for these two events, so please read on and let us know if you can help!
To honor Earth Day, you have your pick between two fabulous events, both onSaturday, April 23. Come help us celebrate the installation of our first San Francisco Beach Clean Up Station at Heron’s Head Park at 12 p.m. Or join us across the Golden Gate, where we will join Slide Ranch for its annual Spring Fling.
Help Make our Mermaid Festival Fin-tastic!
Our Mermaid Festival on Sunday, June 12 promises to be a whale of a time! It will be chock full of fun—including a mermaid art show, face painting and swimming with mermaids, mermen and merteens! But we need your help to make a big splash! We are looking for volunteers to be on the planning committee, to help advertise and to take photos. If you can help or you know someone who can, or for more information, please email Kaya at firstname.lastname@example.org and/or Tracy at email@example.com. Please also see the flyer below for more details.
March, Swim and Slither with us at the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade!
Slip into your favorite sea creature gear, bring your family and friends and slither alongside us at the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 30. Want to wear a mermaid tail? We can make that happen! Parade prep starts at 8:30 a.m. Please contact Merileigh at firstname.lastname@example.org to join the fun!
Need inspiration for your sea creature costume? Check out the creative garb below, at The Marine Mammal Center’s Run for the Seals 2015 event last summer.
We are happy to announce that we will install our first San Francisco Beach Clean Up Station on Saturday, April 23. This Station, at Heron’s Head Park, represents a partnership between AOO and the EcoCenter at Heron’s Head Park. Please join us for an Earth Day Cleanup and Celebration! Shoreline cleanup from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., Earth Day Celebration at 12 p.m.
Contact email@example.com for more information and a detailed schedule of events.
If you are on the other side of the Golden Gate, please join us for Slide Ranch’s Spring Fling event on Saturday, April 23, in between Muir and Stinson beaches. We will display a sample Beach Clean Up Station and engage with the community from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event promises sheep-shearing, live music, animal encounters, organic food and hands-on farm and craft activities.
